The creation of art is a gift from our Creator that we can appreciate every day. Everything we can touch, see, feel, and experience in the world around us is because of Him.  He designed us in His own image; therefore, we are all called to create.  Some of us paint, some make music, some create businesses, and some create spreadsheets.  Understanding the fundamentals of art helps all of us develop the gifts and talents that God has given us to utilize for His glory!

In the elementary levels, we explore the following elements of art: color, texture, value, line, space, shape and form. We are introduced to many famous artists and to many ways of creating art, from drawing and painting, to printmaking, weaving, and 3-D.  We also address the effects that the principles of design-balance, unity, variety, emphasis, movement, pattern, and proportion have on our artwork.
