Why I came to DCS:
I attended DCS from 5th grade until I graduated high school, and teaching in a Christian school environment has always been so important to me because of my experience as a student at DCS. After I had enrolled my 2 children for the current school year, a position in Pre-K opened up and I knew right away that DCS is exactly where I needed to be. I couldn't be more thrilled to have the opportunity to teach the youngest students at DCS about the love that Jesus has for them, and to be able to watch them grow into who God has called them to be!

Why I came to DCS:
I started my teaching career in Marion City. Following the birth of my oldest son, I left to serve my family as a stay at home mom. My original plan was to wait until all of my children were in school until I went back into teaching. God had a different plan! After having our youngest daughter, I learned of a part-time art position at a Christian school. It was earlier than I had planned on returning, but it was made clear to me that this was a part of His perfect timing. DCS has been a wonderful place to serve on staff, as well as a fantastic opportunity for my children. I absolutely love teaching in a school where I can speak freely of the Lord's mercy, love, and grace!

Why I came to DCS:
I am from the Lewis Center area and actually attended DBC as a kid. I went to college in VA and my husband and I moved to GA for a year after we were married. When we decided to come home, I reached out to Albany (who I knew from my childhood and was, at the time the band & choir director) and asked if there were any part-time Christian school band jobs open in the area. Turns out the day before, she decided to do choir only and her band position was opening! Already being familiar with DCS and with how clear God orchestrated the band job opening, it was such an easy decision coming here!

Why I came to DCS:
My children started attending DCS, and I loved the school. Why I came to DCS:
I attended DCS as a student from 2nd grade through graduation. I loved the Christ-centered environment and the family-like atmosphere. After I graduated from Cedarville, I began teaching at Delaware City Schools. Later, I spent a few years as a stay-at-home mom with my two kids. When the principal of DCS gave me a call to ask me if I was interested in joining the high school staff, I was excited about the opportunity. After a lot of prayer, I realized that I had the chance to make an impact on students the way my teachers had impacted me. I was excited to be able to incorporate biblical truths into my English lessons and speak the life-giving words of the Bible in my classroom. Why I came to DCS:
I was already a sub here at the time. A missionary spoke at my church and challenged me to get out of my comfort zone. I realized I had grown too comfortable in my job and needed to transition into something more challenging. The next week, Mr. McDonald(DCS Administrator) asked me if I was interested in teaching here full time. I took that as a sign from God that I needed to make the switch from teaching at Columbus State Community College to DCS. I do not regret the change one bit.
When I was younger I wanted to:
Be involved with my parents in what they were doing. I spent a lot of time just hanging out and learning from them. I wanted to be under the car or in the basement with dad and in the kitchen or outdoors with mom. It was my parents' interest in things that spurred me on to search out the how's and why's of life. They provided me many opportunities to learn and discover the world around me.

Why I came to DCS:
I had spent a few years substitute teaching and was holding out for a part time teaching position, not wanting to be away from my young children more than part time. In God's perfect timing, the band position became available. I am blessed to have attended DCS from 5th grade through graduation and choosing to return to a place with wonderful administration, teachers and students was a no-brainer and a true answer to prayer!
When I was younger I wanted to:
To marry my junior high school sweetheart, Levi, be a mom and teach!
Hobbies/Interests outside of DCS:
Leading worship at my church, crafting, scrapbooking and photography, gardening, shopping, spending time with family and friends-preferably at the beach!

Why I came to DCS:
I had been teaching in Pennsylvania and South Carolina and wanted to come back to Central Ohio. I knew people from DCS. I was welcomed as a part of the DCS family on my first visit. I was committed to teach in a Christian environment.

Why I came to DCS:
I love the “family” feel at DCS. The staff and students truly love the Lord.

always be a teacher. I would pretend I was the teacher and all my boy cousins were the students.

I love to read and enjoy time with my family! My interests are in sports...especially football (Go Packers!!!) and college basketball.

Why I came to DCS:
Our oldest daughter began attending kindergarten at DCS in 1996. Then our youngest daughter in 1999. I was wanting to return to the workforce while both girls were at school. I was offered a position as a DCS teacher's aide and it was a perfect match! I often tell people that my children did not attend DCS because I work here but I work here because this is where I wanted them to attend school. Over time, I served as the Office Manager and moved into IT. DCS is an excellent place to work.
