Posted 09/19/17
We are looking forward to this year's Spiritual Retreat at Recreation Unlimited for students in grades 6 - 12!
The retreat will be held at Recreation Unlimited, 7700 Piper Rd, Ashley, OH 43003. It will run for the middle school students Wednesday, September 27, through Thursday, September 28. Students will arrive Wednesday and Thursday morning between 8:15 – 8:45 am at the retreat center. They will have two chapel services on Wednesday. There will be games and tournaments played in-between each service. There will be another two chapel services on Thursday with games and tournaments again. The middle school students do not spend the night at the retreat. On Wednesday your student will be provided lunch and dinner, and on Thursday they will be provided lunch. Your student must be picked at 6 pm on Wednesday, and picked up at 4 pm on Thursday.
We will be offering again to the HS students the option to spend an extra night (Thursday night). Those spending the night on Thursday must be picked up by 8 am on Friday morning at the retreat center.
New this year: we will be asking that students leave their phones at home or drop them off at the retreat when they check in. They will be given a Ziploc bag where they will write their name on it and place their phone in the bag. They will then be separated by class. Mr. Carroll, the Dean of Students, will be in charge of the phones. In the case of an emergency, we will be providing two phone numbers for you to contact a staff member at the retreat.
There will be no classes at DCS for MS or HS students on Wednesday-Friday, September 27-29.
NOTICE: please wear a RED shirt on Thursday to the Spiritual Retreat for a choreographed, aerial group picture. You may change into your shirt of choice after the group picture if you would like to do so.
