The detour is located on South Sandusky Street just north of the school. This is the information from the City of Delaware's website posted 08/14/14:
"City of Delaware crews will replace a 65-year-old section of water line along Sandusky Street, between Weiser Avenue and Birch Bend, beginning August 18. The project will require about one month to complete.
The City is replacing a water main that has a history of four breaks dating to 2007 and most recently in 2013.
Water service interruptions will be necessary and notices will be made 24-hours in advance to the affect residents. After the new water main has been installed and placed into service, pavement and turf restoration will take place.
While every attempt will be made to keep construction disturbance to a minimum, area residents may experience road closures, traffic delays, restricted street parking, and increased noise during regular business hours. Road closure signage and related traffic control devices will be in place. The City will make every effort to provide 24 hours advance notice of any non-emergency water shut down, but residents may experience short periods of no water service.
Public questions may be directed to the Public Utilities Department, 740-203-1904. Residents also can follow the project on Twitter and on the city’s Facebook page."
