Students are equipped not simply to complete the next assignment, but to become thoughtful learners who know what they believe, understand why it matters, and are prepared to use what they learn in service to others.

From foundational skills to increasingly complex study, DCS students are encouraged to ask good questions, solve meaningful problems, and grow into learners who approach the world with curiosity, discernment, and conviction.

Students grow differently at every age. The DCS academic experience is designed to meet those changing needs — building strong foundations in the early years, greater independence in middle school, and the confidence and preparation to take meaningful next steps after graduation.
Elementary School Pre-K–5
A strong foundation for learning. Elementary students build essential skills across core subjects while developing the habits that make future learning possible. Caring teachers create a structured, encouraging environment where curiosity is welcomed, effort matters, and students begin learning how faith shapes the way they understand every subject.
Middle School Grades 6–8
Growing independence. Deeper learning. Middle school is a season of transition. Students take on greater responsibility, strengthen study habits, and learn to navigate more complex ideas while remaining known and supported by teachers. The experience gives students room to discover strengths, build confidence, and prepare for the expectations of high school.
High School Grades 9–12
Prepared for what comes next. High school students are challenged to pursue academic excellence with increasing ownership of their learning. Rigorous study, leadership, service, and a biblical worldview help students prepare for college, career, ministry, and the responsibilities of adult life with clarity and confidence.
Known students. Thoughtful support.
Students do their best work when expectations are clear and support is personal. DCS teachers and staff work to understand each student’s strengths, identify areas where additional help may be needed, and partner with families as students develop stronger skills and greater independence. Families whose students have specific learning needs are encouraged to begin a conversation with the school so DCS can understand those needs clearly and determine the appropriate next steps within the support available through the school program.
What we are preparing students to become.
The goal of a DCS education extends beyond academic performance. The Expected Student Outcomes describe the spiritual, academic, social, and physical growth Delaware Christian School seeks to cultivate over the course of a student’s time here.
We expect Delaware Christian students to:
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be connected in a local church (John 3:16; 1 Cor. 12:12-31).
- Be growing in biblical knowledge, wisdom, and character (2 Pet. 1:5-8; 1 Thess. 4:3-5; Ps. 1).
- Be equipped to share the Gospel and other biblical truth to edify other believers and introduce the lost to Christ (Matt. 28:19-20; Eph. 4:1-16).
We expect Delaware Christian students to:
- Demonstrate the ability to think critically and communicate effectively (2 Cor. 10:5; Phil. 1:9-11; Phil. 4:8).
- Be academically prepared to pursue, based upon their giftedness, their individual college and/or career goals (Col. 2:8; 3:23; 1 Pet. 3:15).
- Exhibit good study habits and a commitment to lifelong learning (Prov. 4:13; Prov. 1:5; Prov. 9:9).
We expect Delaware Christian students to:
- Recognize that each individual is created in the image of God and of great worth (Gen. 1:27; Ps. 139:13-14).
- Maintain a lifestyle of purity (1 Cor. 6:18-20).
- Honor God by treating their body according to biblical standards (1 Cor. 6:19-20; 1 Thess. 4:3-5).
