Why I came to DCS:

Why I came to DCS:

When my interview began with prayer, I knew Delaware Christian School was a place I wanted to be. I graduated from a small K-12 school in East Tennessee. After moving to Ohio in 2018, I never dreamed I would have the opportunity to teach in a school of similar size, and certainly not one that seeks to share the love of Christ, as I do. And getting to work with our youngest learners is just an extra blessing. I feel so honored to be a part of the DCS family. Every day I get to share my enthusiasm for learning, as well as my love for Jesus with my students, and that's seriously the best part!

I love to do just about anything outdoors! I enjoy being in nature, and the mountains will always have a place in my heart. I also love books and movies! Why I came to DCS:

After plenty of prayer and encouragement from family and friends, I decided to join DCS to become part of a team that speaks and exemplifies truth to our community's youth. Our institution exists to glorify God and to properly guide children in the ways that are taught in the Bible. Our current society is crumbling all around us. Our kids are being lied to every day by popular culture. The state of our world is frightening, but we as Christians are tasked to steward the Lord's creation and act as ambassadors to His Kingdom. It is imperative that Biblical teaching be at the center of academics-- even Art (especially Art!) "For we are His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Why I came to DCS:

My husband was transferred with his company to the Columbus area in 2022, and I was on the lookout for a Christian school to enroll our oldest daughter, as she was preparing for Pre-K. In the midst of this transition for our family, I was in fervent prayer about where God wanted to use me. Although all of my schooling from Kindergarten-college was at a Christian school, my entire teaching career was in a charter/public school setting. I begged God to open the door to the school that He willed for me to be at, and it just so happened that DCS was hiring. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God led me to teach here. I'm so proud and beyond thankful to be an eagle!

I wanted to be an elementary teacher since I was in second grade, mostly due to the fact that my second grade teacher frequently passed out gummy bears to us in class for our hard work.

Why I came to DCS:

I attended DCS from 5th grade until I graduated high school, and teaching in a Christian school environment has always been so important to me because of my experience as a student at DCS. Why I came to DCS:

I started my teaching career in Marion City. Following the birth of my oldest son, I left to serve my family as a stay at home mom. My original plan was to wait until all of my children were in school until I went back into teaching. God had a different plan! After having our youngest daughter, I learned of a part-time art position at a Christian school. It was earlier than I had planned on returning, but it was made clear to me that this was a part of His perfect timing. DCS has been a wonderful place to serve on staff, as well as a fantastic opportunity for my children. I absolutely love teaching in a school where I can speak freely of the Lord's mercy, love, and grace!

Why I came to DCS:

I am from the Lewis Center area and actually attended DBC as a kid. I went to college in VA and my husband and I moved to GA for a year after we were married. When we decided to come home, I reached out to Albany (who I knew from my childhood and was, at the time the band & choir director) and asked if there were any part-time Christian school band jobs open in the area. Turns out the day before, she decided to do choir only and her band position was opening! Already being familiar with DCS and with how clear God orchestrated the band job opening, it was such an easy decision coming here!

I knew in 6th grade I wanted to be a band director so I’m going to share my other dream job instead. I would love to move to Alaska and work as an EMT at a ski resort!

I taught in public schools for 18 years when God called me to a different type of ministry. I prayed for two years for God's clear direction in my life as I heard Him calling me somewhere different. In May of 2017, God made it clear that He wanted me at Delaware Christian School by opening a position right before I had to commit to my current job for the following year.

Why I came to DCS:

My children attend DCS, and I was so pleased with the biblical worldview that was taught, the high rigor of academics, the variety of opportunities and classes available, and the service-minded aspect of the classes. Why I came to DCS:

I attended DCS as a student from 2nd grade through graduation. I loved the Christ-centered environment and the family-like atmosphere. After I graduated from Cedarville, I began teaching at Delaware City Schools. Later, I spent a few years as a stay-at-home mom with my two kids. When the principal of DCS gave me a call to ask me if I was interested in joining the high school staff, I was excited about the opportunity. After a lot of prayer, I realized that I had the chance to make an impact on students the way my teachers had impacted me. I was excited to be able to incorporate biblical truths into my English lessons and speak the life-giving words of the Bible in my classroom. Since being at DCS, I feel blessed to spend my time with an amazing staff and a great group of students.

I had spent a few years substitute teaching and was holding out for a part time teaching position, not wanting to be away from my young children more than part time. Why I came to DCS:

Our oldest daughter began attending kindergarten at DCS in 1996. Then our youngest daughter in 1999. I was wanting to return to the workforce while both girls were at school. I was offered a position as a DCS teacher's aide and it was a perfect match! I often tell people that my children did not attend DCS because I work here but I work here because this is where I wanted them to attend school. Over time, I served as the Office Manager and moved into IT. DCS is an excellent place to work.
