Every student in grades K-9 has the opportunity to enjoy gym class! Once a week or more, students receive a break from their studies to learn a new physical skill. Sometimes that skill encompasses coordination or balance. The students become adept at mastering the hurdles, ladders or agility training. Students also become acquainted with the rules of a game, like volleyball or soccer. Of course, scooter handball is a favorite!
During inclement weather, the students challenge themselves to walk many miles in the gym. In the spring, the jump rope competition commences and culminates in a fun day for Jump for Your Heart. Track and Field Day is a favorite spring event. Students in grades K-6 compete with classmates to jump and throw the farthest and run the fastest in the 50 yard dash, three-legged and sack races.
