Graduation Requirements

What it Takes to Earn an Ohio Diploma - Class of 2017

Curriculum Requirements

4 units of English Language Arts
½ unit of Health
4 units of Math - must include 1 unit of Algebra II
½ unit of Physical Education
3 units of Science - must include 1 unit of physical sciences (Grade 9 Physical Science), 1 unit of life sciences (Grade 10 Biology), and 1 unit advanced study in one or more of the following sciences: Chemistry, Physics, or Anatomy
3 units of Social Studies - must include American History and American Government

4 units of Bible or 1 unit for each year at DCS

5 units of Electives - must include one or any combination of foreign language, fine arts, yearbook, Bible, or other courses not otherwise required

2 units of foreign language strongly suggested

Other Requirements
Economics and Financial Literacy - requirement met in Marriage and Family Living
Fine Arts - Requirement met in 2 years of Choir or Band, or 1 year of Art. Yearbook does not count as a Fine Arts credit.

Total of 21 units to graduate

5 units per year minimum
